Grace Reigns
“so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 5:21 (NKJV)Sin had a throne once. Paul does not soften the word. Sin reigned, and its reign ended in death. For a long season it looked like the grave was the final word over every life, every family, every generation.
Then Paul turns the whole sentence around: "even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 5:21, NKJV)
Read that word slowly. Reign. Grace does not visit your life like a guest. It does not negotiate with your past or ask permission from your shame. Grace takes the throne sin was sitting on and rules from it, through righteousness, all the way to eternal life.
That is why grace is not weak. Weak things beg for room. Grace governs. Your worst chapter does not get a vote in the kingdom grace runs. The old reign is over. The question is whether you will keep bowing to a deposed king.
Day 7 of 30 on grace, and here is the shift: stop treating grace like a backup plan you call when you have failed. Grace is the government now. Live like a citizen of a kingdom where mercy makes the rules, where righteousness is the currency and eternal life is the destination.
And a reigning grace still moves. It still heals, still fills, still sets captives free. The same grace that saved you wants to flood you again this morning. Let it.
Prayer: Father, I stop bowing to the old reign of sin and shame. Let Your grace reign in me today, through righteousness, all the way to eternal life, through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
