Grace and Truth

“For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

John 1:17 (NKJV)

I tried the rulebook first. It measured me and found me short. Maybe you know the feeling: the harder you try to be good enough, the clearer it becomes that you are not. The law was never designed to fix you. It was designed to show you that you needed fixing.

Day five of thirty on grace, and this one might be the most important yet. The law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Notice the difference. One was given through a servant. The other arrived in a Son. Principles can instruct you. Only a Person can rescue you.

Moses carried stone tablets down a mountain. Jesus carried a cross up a hill. The law could point at your sin with perfect accuracy, but it could not reach you in it. Grace does not just diagnose. Grace delivers. Truth without grace would crush you. Grace without truth would excuse you. Jesus brought both, wrapped in flesh, full of glory.

Religion will always hand you a list. Jesus hands you Himself. The question was never whether you could climb high enough. The question was whether you would receive the One who came all the way down.

Stop trying to earn what was already embodied. Grace is not a concept to study. It is a Christ to receive. Look to Him this morning, and let truth wrapped in grace do what rules never could.

Prayer: Jesus, I stop striving today. You are full of grace and truth, and I receive both. Thank You for coming to me instead of waiting for me to climb to You. Fill me with Your Spirit and teach me to rest in what You finished. In Your name, amen.
