The Father Is Seeking Worshippers
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
John 4:23-24 (KJV)Before church starts this morning, heaven is already watching. The Father is looking for somebody, and it might be you.
Jesus told the woman at the well that the hour had come when true worshippers would worship the Father in spirit and in truth, "for the Father seeketh such to worship him" (John 4:23, KJV). Notice who is doing the seeking. We are used to seeking God. This morning, God is seeking us. He wants worshippers, not spectators, not performers, not warm bodies filling pews. Worshippers.
Worship is not the twenty minutes before the sermon. It is a life laid down. It is singing like He is in the room, because He is. It is bringing Him your voice, your hands, your whole heart, and holding nothing back.
He is worthy of it all. So do not sit this one out. Lift your voice today and give Him the worship He came looking for.
Prayer: Father, I will not be a spectator today. Teach me to worship You in spirit and in truth. Take my voice, my hands, my heart. You are worthy of it all. In Jesus' name, amen.
